Our New Website www.sweetstreatsgalore.com

It’s been quite awhile since we last posted on our blog, we have been very busy between Halloween and Christmas.

Halloween this year we seem to have all the kids in the estate at our house, thinking ohhh sweet woman would have loads to give. It was quite a busy night lets just say that.

The run up to Christmas was just madness, only one word for it. Between orders coming in for hampers and Christmas fairs that we were participating in. Sometimes only one a week and other up to 3 a week, It was a family affair them weeks and everyone all over the place with sweets.

Roll on January and new website, January was quiet in the way of weddings and orders (due to no one having money after Christmas, Oh don’t we all love January)

So behind the scenes we were working our little fingers off for a new look website, with the help of one of good friends www.silverbling.ie.

Tracey from Silverbling.ie is a website fanatic, and i can’t hesitate to recommend her for any Website problems.

NOW i probably had her head wrecked, “Tracey how do i do this??”, “Tracey how can i do that?, “Tracey i can’t get Google Analytics to work” Yes that last question drove me mad ha. But we got there in the End.

From new products such as Chocolate Covered Cinders, Do you remember these??

Little nuggets of honeycomb in milk chocolate Choc_cinder

To These little for all the girlies out there One Direction Lucky Bags one-direction-lucky-bag-200x200

So as we make our website live, more and more (probably few 100 more items to add) it will get bigger and better. So far the feedback is great, ease of use, quick to find items.

We have our best seller regulars like Milk Teeth, Fruit salads, Barratts Fizzy cola lolies and Apple lollies.

And while doing all that, bookings have started to come in (people have been paid again) Orders for Valentines day and We have celebrated our first Birthday. GO SWEETS TREATS GALORE. First year is always the hardest.

Suppliers…do your Homework

Last Saturday we got a call from a hotel in a panic.

They had been let down last minute on Saturday by a supplier of a Ferrero Rocher Pyramid, someone was to supply one for a wedding on Thursday, It was booked over 6 months ago with this “supplier” but on Saturday they said they can no longer do, roll on a stressed Wedding coordinator ringing around.

Luckily Sweets Treats Galore had room to accommodate, and help out the hotel and Bride.

We Supplied two Ferrero Rocher Pyramids to celebrate their magical day.

As a supplier, and ourselves dealing with suppliers, always do your homework, Especially if its a big occasion.

Here’s some research you should do on prospective Suppliers:

  • Reviews – Can you see honest up to date reviews when you search for a supplier.
  • Contact Details – has the Supplier got a number of different ways to contact supplier, call, email, social media?
  • Are contacts / booking forms available – Is there a booking form / Contract to cover you and the suppliers.
  • Reliability – Are they reliable, is there any reviews re being let down.
  • Previous work done – Most suppliers will show off there most recent work done.
  • Payment types / and times.

Have you been let down by a supplier??

Have you not received the service you were looking for???

If you have any more tips please share with us and we will be delighted to add it to our list above.

Schools out……and a working mum!!!

Well today we ended the 2013 /2014 school year for both my daughters.

Senior Infants for my 6 year old and Play-school for my 4 year old.

What a day of activities they both had.

Play-school had a graduation, With a few songs sang from all the kids, they they were in the full graduation outfits, Red shawls and hats to the graduation photos (remember now they are 4 and 5 year olds), Then outside to release red balloons into the sky, 20 odd red balloons released by little children, It was magical watching them float into the sky all together and whats more they had the weather, then in for a bit of a party with sweets and cake.

Senior Infants – Fun day, instead of a school tour, the school done a fun day. They had face painting, bouncy castles, Hip Hop, Football, dancing, clowns, and pizza and chips.

Along with the fun day in the school the vice principle was retiring and they had a big speech for her, Kids with drums the lot.

Now they are on 8 weeks holidays, :(. Yeap 8 weeks, now to keep 2 young active children pleased and busy during the summer will be a daunting task with me a working mum of a new company www.sweetstreatsgalore.com.

Now i don’t know about you, but all ill hear over the holidays is “awww mum do we have to” “I don’t want to go there”

Share how you would cope, cause we are a week in and already they are fighting lol.

Some times i think a 9 to 5 job would easier than being a mum and a business owner.

Fruit Salads

Retro Sweet Fruit Salads

Fruit Salads

Fruit Salads are fondly remembered as small rectangular chewy Orange / Red traditional retro sweets dating back as far as the 1920`s. The neatly folded waxed paper wrapping of the Fruit Salad has changed several times over the last few  years from the time it was first manufactured and this reflects not just changing times, but also more recent thinking in terms of political correctness.

Today the iconic Fruit Salad represents a nostalgic old-fashioned sweet which evokes a million happy youthful memories for those of us who remember it from our childhood and teenage years when it could be purchased for a penny from the corner sweet shop.

Fruit Salads are now also sold in packs as well as individually. In the packs the sweets are square, rather than the traditional rectangle, but the taste and texture are every bit the same as ever !!!

Fruit Salads are the cousin of the Black Jack, This is another favorite we all know and some love, some not.

Available from the Sweets Treats Galore from Quarter mix to an ENTIRE WHOLESALE BOX !!!!!!!!!!! Get your order in today !!!

Winner Announced

The other week we announced the winner of our 1ltr Jar of Milk Teeth.

Unfortunately we have still no contact……….

So we have to pick another one 🙂

Congratulations tooooooooooo

Grace Glennon…..with “

We spent the summer in Wexford and we would go missing for the whole day. The nearest shop was a 2.5 hour walk each way so we would go once a week. The shop owner was this huge man called Big Joe. Then one summer Big Joe joined some slimming club and lots so much weight that he won slimmer of the year in his first year. Then Big Joe became Little Joe. The milk teeth were 2p and everything else was 1p so we would get a mix with our 20p treat. I liked when they were a little older and were much harder, they lasted longer. They tasted so good and we would have powder all over us. So glad they are back.

Now bring back Fat Frog ice pops and I’ll be set”

Congratulations Grace, if you contact us by either our website @ http://www.sweetstreatsgalore.com/contact-us-2-w.asp or to sales@sweetstreatsgalore.com
